Not every business has room or budget for an order kiosk, and guests at a table do not want to wait for someone to take their order. With Scan & Order, the customer's phone is the kiosk. You need no hardware, just a printed QR code. Orders arrive on the same order board as those from the Instore Order Kiosk.
How it works for your customer
- Scan the QR code with the phone camera. The menu opens straight away in the browser, in the phone's language.
- Choose products per category, with photo, description and price. Options such as size or sauce are chosen in the product.
- Place the order. Pay online straight away, or order and pay later at the counter or table.
- Follow the order. The customer sees the order number and the status: received, preparing and ready.
At the table or to collect
For each QR code you choose how the customer gets the order:
- At the table: each table has its own QR code with a table number. The order board shows straight away which table the order is for.
- Collect with an order number: one QR code at the entrance, on the counter or on a flyer. The customer gets an order number and sees on the phone when the order is ready.
Payment that fits
Choose per QR code which payment methods are on. With online payment, the customer pays via Mollie before the order goes through. With pay later, the order arrives straight away and the customer pays at the counter or table. Such an order shows on the order board with the note "To pay", so nobody forgets.
One order board for all orders
Orders appear on the order board in the dashboard, in the columns New, Preparing and Ready. You see the order number, the table number, the products with chosen options and the total. When you mark an order Ready, the customer sees it straight away on their phone.
Your own menu, style and languages
- Scan & Order uses your assortment from the dashboard: categories, products, product options, stock and availability. The same assortment feeds your digital menu boards.
- For each QR code you choose which categories and products are visible, for example a separate menu for the terrace.
- Customers order in up to six languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish and Turkish.
- Choose a design and adjust it with your own colours, font and logo. A live preview in the dashboard shows how it looks on a phone.
Printing QR codes
In the dashboard you print the QR code directly as a table card with the table number, or download it as an image for your own design. If a photo of a QR code goes around, create a new one with one click; the old one then stops working.
What you need
- A Narrow.TV account with your products in the assortment.
- A subscription per QR code. You can find the current price in our pricing.
- A printer, or a print shop for table cards or stickers.

Frequently asked questions
Does the customer need to install an app?
No. The customer scans the QR code with the phone camera and orders in the browser. There is nothing to install.
Can customers also pay later?
Yes. For each QR code you choose whether customers pay online straight away via Mollie, pay later at the counter or table, or both. An order paid later shows on the order board with a note that it still has to be paid.
How do staff know which table an order belongs to?
Each table gets its own QR code with a table number. That number is shown with the order on the order board.
Can I replace a QR code?
Yes. One click creates a new QR code. The old code stops working, for example when a photo of it is going around.
Does Scan & Order work together with the order kiosk?
Yes. Scan & Order and the Instore Order Kiosk use the same assortment and the same order board. Orders from both arrive in one place.
